A must visit, but I'm not use to this crazy prices for a beer

Definitely worth visiting this before any of the other beer halls. One of the oldest. When there ask for the German menu. The food range is better... Best locations are at the very back or outside in the court yard. Prost

The atmosphere is fantastic. It is what you expect a traditional Bravarian restaurant to look like. Food is tasty and the beer is out of this world. It is a place that I definitely going to be back frequently.

Great atmosphere and speedy service. Had the classic pork knuckle and beer. Was amazing and will definitely come back. Due to the pandemic you can now pay very easily with credit card. That is just perfect for the whole sleek and relaxed dinner venue.

Nearly perfect but expensive.

I went here for lunch, and sat outside. Pretty friendly staff; the food wasn’t steaming hot when it came out, and a bit lukewarm. The portion was pretty average; but it was down the Main Street towards the tourist attractions .

Rats. Loved the beer and atmosphere. I can accept the bad service, BUT the fact of having rats wandering around wasn't nice. Good news is that they were small.

We sat outside here on a Friday mid-afternoon, great place for beer and to watch the world go by. Only reason for the 3 stars is because we ordered steins but were told there were none left but a group of locals turned up 5 minutes later and had 6 steins bought out..not sure why we were turned down but beer was still good as a pint ??

This is a "restaurant", please remember; but if you forget, don't worry, the people serving you will remind you that time and over if you make the silly mistake of asking what they have to offer in their assorted ice cream menu.

Salad was great but for some reason I don't understand the edelstoff was a small disappointment

Beware, the usual touristic scam! The prices stated on the menu outside of the restaurant are not the same as the ones on the actual menu inside . The quality of the "typical and genuine" local dishes is comparable to what you can get in any random take-away joint for a fraction of the price. Any suggestions for improvement or the hint that the prices outside are not up to date, are received with ignorance. Why should they change anything, enough tourists at hand that come once and never come back. A very sad but unfortunately successful attitude.

One waiter was very unfriendly to us. Apparantely this guy thinks, just because their location is great, he doesn"t have to be kind to his customers. Due to his arrogance and aggressive behavior, we didn't purchase anything.

Had a very nice evening, but the waiter ruined the night for us by correcting us about how much we needed to pay (we did not include a tip yet, which we were about to do. But he insisted us to give a larger tip which is very rude in our culture)

Nice place to be ...

Germaniest place of Bayern's germany. They have Bier, Bier, Beer (direct out wooden barrels) and lot of meat. Ordered tables, cleaniness, polite german waiters dressed traditionnaly. It's very authentic and you should go, there you will learn what germans do. It's filled with germans so you know it's good. For the quality prices are correct and even cheaper that some tourist things. Prost!

So 3 things about this place: 5 Star because of #3 1) Awesome place to have a Bier and watch people (tourist) look for the Devils Footprint church. 50 meters away 2) Supposedly last place to serve Bier fm a wood Barrel. ( go inside and check it out ) 3) MOST IMPORTANT - walk down the side alley, there is a small door on the right, The cheapest Bier in Munich, standing room only but they will serve you a draft and it's like 3 Euro, chat with locals , because no one can find it :-) PS: don't tell anyone :-)

It would have been 4 or even 5 stars, but...Everything was fine, and then the nasty waitress placed the bretzel she picked up from the floor back to the basket. And then hands the bretzel basket to the group on the next table.... food was nice the beetroot veggies awesome, atmosphere also.

Made us provide address, e-mail, and signature as well as the required name, phone number, and arrival time. These are NOT required by law and therefore Augustiner is breaking the data protection laws forcing people to provide these. BOYCOTT THIS RESTAURANT.

Nice service

We came by for dinner without a booking and was able to get a table without having to wait very long, it was situated pretty much at the rear of the restaurant. The restaurant was huge and it was connected to the bierhaus next door (which also has it's own entrance). After getting a table we got German Menus and took a while to get an English one. Someone also left some bread on the table. You can eat it but you do pay for it afterwards. Unbeknownst to us, we were supposed to share the table with couple who came by about 10 minutes later. They were as confused as we were and left as we were already seated. It was actually quite hard to get a waiters attention since they were all really busy. Once we got someone, we grabbed drinks and food to share. The Selection of roast meats was really good value, plenty of meat for around 20 Euros. The sausage platter was smaller than I thought it would be but did have a nice selection of different sausages. The venison goulash was fairly interesting but it was hard to tell it was venison with the sauce. The schnitzel was tasty and crispy. I thought it was a nice experience even though the service wasn't the best. The large dining hall and the huge selection of Bavarian delicacies (and beer) are good reasons to try this place.

One of the best restaurants you would want to visit in Munich. I've been there on all my visits. Amazing ambiance and always buzzing with people !! This time to my surprise I met a member in the service team with indian origin and he our meal a delight ... jus ask for JAS when you are at this place!!

Okay food and nice staff

Pretty good place to try and eat traditional Bavarian and German dishes! I have to add me and my partner had lunch there on Feb 28th and on March 1st. On Friday the service was excellent and the waiter/waitresses were very friendly but on Sunday we were served by some waiters who, with all respect and honesty, looked and kind of behaved like they didn't want to be there. We were a little bit disappointed by the service on that day, although we understand everybody has had bad Sundays! I totally recommend the place. It's very good and affordable considering its location.

Good interior and beer. somehow an 'Ok' food. I've been several times in this place and as this is a very popular touristic destination they had a really really bad service. Waiters are grumpy and impolite, when they talk to you they look like they make you a favor. On top of it, waiters are ordering you to pay them a tips, which I think is unacceptable based on the bad service they provide. All in all I think there is a way to improve the service and experience, bit with them being always full with tourist anyway, the management seems to not take the service issue serious.
